New Mexico man, accused of having sex with teen and hiding age, enters plea

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A man has entered his plea for a case involving sexual abuse. The US Department of Justice (DOJ) said Jordian Pacheco, 33, of Santa Domingo Pueblo, pleaded guilty.

Pacheco is accused of meeting up with a 14-year-old girl from the Navajo Nation in 2021 and not telling her his accurate age.

Court documents claimed Pacheco drove to the girl’s home on January 9, 2021, when her mom wasn’t home and had sex with her. At the time, Pacheco was 29.

The next day, the girl’s mom told police a man was hiding in her daughter’s closet. Officials claimed they found Pacheco there, and he gave a false identity while denying that he committed any crimes. He was taken to a detention center.

Police found a vehicle registered to Pacheco outside the house. When confronted, he reportedly confirmed he gave a false name. Later on, officials said he confessed to having sex with the girl.

He faces up to 78 months in prison, and afterward, he will have to be supervised from five years to life. He also has to register as a sex offender.
