New solar farm completed in Los Lunas

LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) – PNM and community leaders celebrated the completion of a new solar farm in Valencia County Thursday.

The Sky Ranch Solar Energy Center has more than 412,300 panels and can produce up to 190 megawatts of power. That is enough electricity to power 51,000 homes a year. “This project puts us one step closer to our goal at PNM, of being 100 percent carbon-free in the future. We are already more than halfway there,” said Laura Sanchez, executive director of Government and Public Affairs at PNM.

Over the next 20 years, the project is expected to generate millions in additional revenue for Valencia County and New Mexico, according to PNM.
