Just three hours before going on stage at the SAGA festival in Bucharest, Niki Minaj announced to her fans that she would not be coming. The artist posted a message on her personal Instagram account in which she says she was warned by her team not to travel to Romania because protests are announced.
“Out of concern for the safety of myself and our team, I have been advised by my security team not to travel to the festival in Romania tonight due to safety concerns related to the protests in the area. I look forward to seeing you all on another occasion. As a mom, I have to make sure I make the right decisions so that I get home to my son and my team gets home to their families. Ignoring the advice of security at this point is not what I think I should do. I love you and thank you for your understanding and support. I’m so excited to see my fans this Friday in London for another very special show at the Wireless Festival,” Nicki Minaj wrote on the X Network (formerly Twitter). The only protests announced are for Monday.
The accountants announced that they will go out to Victoriei Square to protest against the fiscal measures. The demonstration starts at 8:30 a.m. in Piaţa Victoriei, and at 09:30 a.m. it will march towards the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance in Piaţa Constituţiei. The SAGA festival in the Capital takes place in the Băneasa area, and the protest would not have affected the artist’s visit to our country in any way.
