“Two kids don’t commit this crime for money.” Netflix has revealed their official trailer for a documentary film titled The Menendez Brothers, streaming in October. This companion piece to their upcoming series is an actual, real documentary about the two murderers and their story. Netflix just launched their new true crime series titled Monsters: The Lyle & Erik Menendez Story made by Ryan Murphy, about the infamous story of The Menendez Brothers from Beverly Hills killing their own parents. “30 years after the murders, the brothers tell their story.” In 1996, the Menendez brothers faced trial for killing their parents, a case that captivated America. Years later, and they finally share their side through interviews from prison, along with others involved, offering a fresh take on the events. The doc is made by an Argentinian filmmaker and it has no connection to the Ryan Murphy series, though Netflix is hosting both to show the real story and the fake one side-by-side if anyone is interested.
