The laptop excels across the board and boasts the longest battery life of a laptop ever tested by Mashable, a whopping 23 hours! Additionally, its Snapdragon X Elite processor outperforms all M3-based MacBooks earning it the second-highest Geekbench 6 performance score of laptops tested by Mashable. It also supports Microsoft’s new AI features which Mashable tech editor, Kim Gedeon, wrote makes Windows fun again in her review.

However, the Microsoft Surface Laptop lacks some app compatibility like Apple Music for example, and is not a gaming laptop. Some Reddit users point out that it might not be the best choice for students, but if you’re not a student, app compatibility isn’t an issue, and you’re not a gamer then this might be the best laptop for you. As Gedeon wrote, “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the Surface Laptop 7 is the better choice over M3 MacBooks.” You could be saying this too.
