Prime Day 2024 is coming: These are the best deals to watch out for

UPDATE: May. 30, 2024, 10:53 a.m. EDT This story includes deals from last year’s Prime Big Deal Days. This year’s Prime Day sale is expected to take place in July, but check back here for official dates.

With Memorial Day in the rearview window, we’re ready for the windfall of summer sales coming our way. And the biggest among them is Amazon Prime Day.

This is where we’ll be updating all the best deals we see during Prime Day 2024, so be sure to bookmark or check this page regularly so you don’t miss anything. While the deals have yet to arrive, we’re looking back at the 2023 deals that saw big drops on TVs, Apple products, iRobots, and more.

When is Amazon Prime Day?

An exact date for Prime Day 2024 has yet to be announced, but according to an April 26 press release, the flagship event is coming in July. Looking at past years, we suspect the event to take place in early to mid-July.

This follows Amazon’s fall sale event Prime Big Deal Days, which took place on October 10 and 11, 2023.

What to expect for Prime Day 2024

Having covered multiple Amazon sale events for years, we know the ole rigmarole. Anyone who’s shopped a Prime event before already knows the drill: It’s two days of sitewide doorbusters, with Amazon’s own devices and services getting the steepest price drops.

It is worth mentioning that Amazon revived its invite-only deals program for products it expects to sell out during its July and October 2023 sales. Prime members can visit these products’ listings to request an invitation, and if chosen, you’ll receive an email with a unique link to buy the item at some point during the sale. (Amazon doesn’t specify how it picks these lucky eligible shoppers; all we know is that they’re exclusive to Prime members.) Check out Mashable’s invite-only deals guide if you’re interested in participating.

The best deals we saw during Prime Big Deal Days

Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s get to the best deals we saw at last year’s Prime Big Deal Days. We kept a running list of the very best deals available during Amazon’s last shopping event in anticipation for this year’s Prime Day. We expect to see similar deals from Amazon come July. Now is a great time to prep your wishlist and plan your budget, so you can shop smarter during Prime Day 2024.

Why we like it

Last year, we say this 50-inch QLED TV drop down to $200 during Prime Big Deal Days. Need we say more? It provides exceptional color accuracy, brightness, and contrast for the price point.

While its current price isn’t quite as good, you can get it ahead of Prime Day 2024 for just $299.99 — that’s 40% off. But if you want to play your luck, wait until July, and it might drop back down to 60% off.

One of our complaints about the Kindle that doubles as a digital notebook is that it’s too expensive for what it is — so last year’s $80 discount remedied that gripe. The Scribe is a solid e-reader with a huge 300 ppi display and super long battery life. As an annotation device, the note-taking abilities are ideal for readers who like to physically jot down their thoughts on the page, and anyone whose job involves proofreading PDFs. This version comes with the Premium Pen, which has a virtual eraser and a customizable shortcut button.

And this year, during Amazon’s inaugural book sale, we saw the Scribe drop down to $279.99 — it’s new lowest price ever.

If you’re not able to get your hands on the 50-inch Omni TV above, this 43-inch TV isn’t a bad option for someone on a budget. Last year it was marked down for $110, but you can get it today for even more savings. Right now, you can get 4K resolution with Dolby Digital Plus for just $249.99, that’s $120 in savings.

Last year’s $99 price cut isn’t exactly a rare deal to see for the 2022 iPad Air, but it’s not unwelcome either. We’re big fans of how this Air comes with an M1 chip, giving it a boost of power from the standard iPads, without the boost in price that would put it in the iPad Pro range.

However, with the spring drop of Apple’s new iPad Air with M2 chip, we’re expecting the previous generation to be majorly discounted during Prime Day. Right now, you can get a 2022 iPad Air with 256 GB storage for $549.99, slashing the price by $200.

Our biggest qualm about the Bose 700 headphones is their price, so we’re always stoked to see them get knocked down during a sale. True to form for the brand, these headphones offer excellent active noise cancellation, but unlike their other headphones, they offer 10 different levels of it, so you can customize your ANC to what feels exactly right for you. Whether you’re looking for headphones to take with you on a plane or simply need a solid pair, the Bose 700s will do the trick.

What’s better than a robot vacuum that does the cleaning for you? A robot vacuum that won’t eat your phone charger while doing so, and then empties itself. Last year’s Prime exclusive was an incredible deal, 50% off for its lowest price ever. While you can’t get that good of a real right now, it’s currently 25% off, for just $598.

Its obstacle-mapping cameras aren’t quite as good as the Roomba j7+, but if you can make do with picking up stray socks and towels, you can get the exact same suction power and self-empty dock capacity for a much cheaper price.

There are plenty of great Blink deals to choose from, but this video doorbell and mini camera bundle gets you two devices in one, for half the cost. It also comes with the Sync Module 2, which, along with a USB drive, allows for local storage of your footage.

The latest smartwatch from Samsung launched in August 2023, but in classic Prime Day fashion it’s getting a markdown. If you’re not into the Pixel Watch 2 Google just announced, Mashable’s Alex Perry wrote in his review of the Galaxy Watch that although Google’s newest watch could prove to be good competition, “fitness and health devotees will get more out of a Galaxy Watch 6 than a [first generation] Pixel Watch.”

It will likely get another markdown during July’s Prime Day, but right now you can grab it for $329.99, saving you $70.

The best pizza oven for apartment dwellers was at its lowest price ever during Prime Big Deal Days. It’s back to full-price, but we hope to see it dip in price come July.

The Pizzaiolo gets hot enough (up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit) to achieve that wood-fired Neapolitan style that your average oven can’t, whipping up authentic-tasting brick oven pizzas in just two or three minutes. Choose from settings like New York, thin and crispy, pan, and more, with the included pizza stone insert curating the perfect bottom crust for each.
