Prosecutors requested that Maestas stay in custody due to his past criminal history and concerns about him returning to the establishment on San Felipe Street NW to watch the fire’s progress.

A court hearing on the pretrial detention motion has not been set yet. High Noon Restaurant posted on social media that they would be closed for several weeks to recover from the fire. According to court documents, the damage from the fire was estimated to be $20,0000.
