Quieter and drier into the week

Quieter and drier conditions are in store for most of the state as we continue through the holiday weekend. A few storms are still expected to develop though across southern and western New Mexico this afternoon and evening. A few more storms are possible on Labor Day in southeast New Mexico and southern Colorado, along with a chance in the northern mountains, but most areas will stay dry. Temperatures will steadily cool through Labor Day.

Dry weather returns for all of New Mexico Tuesday as high pressure starts building over the state. This will bring in warmer and sunnier weather by Wednesday. Temperatures will stay warm into the end of next week. Some forecast models bring back chances for rain late next week, but there is still a lot of uncertainty with that.
