Rachel Sennott’s HBO comedy pilot has added four new cast members.

Per Deadline, Odessa A’zion (Sitting in Bars with Cake), Jordan Firstman (You People), Miles Robbins (Blockers), and True Whitaker (Godfather of Harlem) have joined Sennott’s untitled pilot.

A’zion starred in 2022’s Hellraiser and has appeared in multiple episodes of the CBS comedy Ghosts. Firstman had a recurring role in the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel. Robbins appeared in Bill Burr’s feature film, Old Dads, and Kyle Mooney’s directorial effort, Y2K. Whitaker appeared alongside her father, Forest, in the drama series, Godfather of Harlem.

What to Expect From Rachel Sennott’s HBO Comedy Pilot?

HBO ordered a comedy pilot from Sennott in March 2024. Sennott will star and executive produce the untitled pilot. The logline reads: “A codependent friend group reunites, navigating how the time apart, ambition, and new relationships have changed them.”

Besides Sennott, the pilot’s executive producers include Emma Barrie and Aida Rodgers. Lorene Scafaria, who directed Hustlers and episodes of Succession, will executive produce and direct the pilot.

HBO has a proven track record with comedies from rising female actresses, notably Issa Rae’s Insecure and Lena Dunham’s Girls.

Sennott first burst onto the scene in 2020’s Shiva Baby. After starring in ABC’s shortlived sitcom Call Your Mother, Sennott stole the show in 2022’s Bodies Bodies Bodies. In 2023, Sennott co-wrote and starred in Bottoms, a teen comedy featuring The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri.

Sennott will next appear as Rosie Shuster in SNL 1975, a dramedy about the origins of Saturday Night Live; and Holland, Michigan, a thriller from Mimi Cave starring Nicole Kidman.
