Wednesday morning is calm and clear across the state. Temperatures will be heating up today, rising back into the 80s, 90s and 100s. The heat wave will continue Thursday, thanks to high pressure overhead. Showers and storms will be limited to the northern, southwest and south-central mountains.

The low elevations will stay dry and mostly sunny, with increasing clouds around sunset. Similar conditions are expected Thursday. The next storm will arrive on Friday, bringing more widespread showers and storms to the northern half of the state, along with cooler temperatures for those who see clouds and rain.
