Police were searching a Redlands nudist resort on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 29, for a person of interest tied to the disappearance of a couple who went missing over the weekend.
Police hadn’t found the man, a resident of the resort, Olive Dell Ranch, but believe he is on the premises, said Carl Baker, a Redlands police spokesman.
Police believe foul play occurred, they said.
SWAT is on scene, Baker said.
Dan Menard, 78, and his wife, Stephanie Menard, 73, were last seen at their mobile home on the 26000 block of Keissel Road around 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24. The next day, a friend who often went to church with them reported them missing, Brian Cleland, a co-owner of Olive Dell Ranch has said.
The husband is diabetic and suffers from dementia, police said, while his wife requires a cane to walk around, the co-owner said.
Also missing was Cuddles, their small dog. The Menards’ car was found down the street. Stephanie Menard’s purse was in their mobile home with her husbands cellphones.
Olive Dell Ranch is in a canyon.
