Registration open for Rio Rancho Police citizens’ academy

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Applications are open for the citizens’ academy with the Rio Rancho Police. The program gives community members an inside look at police operations.

“The goal of the Citizens’ Police Academy is to keep the Rio Rancho Police Department connected with our community. The academy provides citizens with a greater understanding of all of the services and programs the Rio Rancho Police Department has to offer,” Captain Jacquelynn Reedy said in a press release.

The program is open to residents, business owners, and other community leaders. To apply, you can go to this link or apply in-person at 500 Quantum Rd NE Rio Rancho, NM.

The citizens’ academy lasts 10 weeks and is a one-night-per-week commitment (Tuesday evenings). The course begins on August 13, 2024, but spaces are limited.
