Knight defeated Logan Paul, who had held the title for 279 days. Paul defended the title only twice before facing Knight. Despite fan criticism for Paul’s title reign, reports indicate that backstage officials viewed this positively, appreciating the extensive publicity Paul brought to the championship through his numerous high-profile appearances.
Since claiming the WWE United States Championship, Knight has actively defended it on the WWE SmackDown brand. He has faced Santos Escobar, Ludwig Kaiser, and Andrade in three successful title defenses since winning at WWE SummerSlam. However, despite being a fighting champion, WWE hasn’t booked him into a feud.
Recently, WWE added Knight to the ongoing feud between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes. The two stars have competed in a series of matches against each other, each scoring three victories. With Knight now involved, recent reports suggest that WWE has significant plans for him, as he is reportedly set to enter a feud with none other than Randy Orton.

Randy Orton plays a key role in a storyline involving Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes, acting as a peacemaker between the two. Orton helps navigate Owens’ mixed feelings about Rhodes teaming up with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood this weekend.
While Orton fulfills his peacemaker duties, recent reports indicate that WWE is planning a potential feud between him and United States Champion LA Knight. In a recent Q&A with Sportskeeda, Joe Lowry from WrestleVotes revealed WWE’s intention to have Knight face off against Orton.
It will be interesting to see if these reported plans come to fruition and how the promotion will book a program between LA Knight and Randy Orton.
