Ringo Starr took to his social channels today to announce that the final performances of his fall tour would be canceled as he recovers from an illness. The legendary former Beatle spent much of the summer touring North America with his All Starr Band, but is now forced to scrap the closing Mid-Atlantic leg on doctor’s orders.
“Ringo has come down with a cold,” a statement made on by the artist’s behalf asserts. “After consulting a doctor he was advised to cancel these two remaining shows and get rest.” Ringo and company were set to perform tonight, Sept. 24, at Philadelphia’s TD Pavilion at The Mann and tomorrow, Sept. 25 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall. Ticketholders will be eligible for refunds from their respective points of purchase.
In April, Starr released a solo EP titled Crooked Boy. The project originated from a collaboration with Linda Perry, who is credited as the writer and producer for all four songs on the cycle. This dispatch, which provided core material for Starr’s 2024 tour, continued an artist connection between Starr and Perry, which began when Perry wrote the standout “Coming Undone” for Starr’s 2021 EP Change the World.
