Roadrunner All-Stars are headed to Waco Regional

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – For a second straight year the majors division All-Star team from Roadrunner Little League is headed to Waco, Texas, for the Southwest Little League Regional Tournament. This team is riding some major momentum as they went undefeated in district play, outscoring their opponents 65-2. When they won the state title, they outscored opponents 25-2.

The team will play their first game in the southwest regional on Friday, August 2. The team earned a first-round bye in Waco, Texas, which means that they only need three wins to make it to the Little League World Series.

“There is no moment too big for these boys, they have played a lot of baseball throughout their lives and probably more than most people can say, but I would say the biggest thing, and I almost want to tear up thinking about it, I am just proud of them. They are good kids and they know how to play together. These boys are ready”, said Head Coach Joe Rogillio.

“All we need to do is come prepared, come mentally focused, and with all of our skills, and if we are all ready to go we should be able to get to Williamsport”, said Roadrunner catcher Colby Gaulden.

This team is still raising money for their trip to Waco, Texas. Click here for a link to their GoFundMe. The team will also host a whiffle ball tournament and cookout on Thursday at Roadrunner Little League on Thursday to help raise funds. It is $50 per team and it will start at 5 pm at Roadrunner Little League.
