Roma children at centre of Leeds unrest returned to extended family

Four children had been removed from house in Harehills to prevent their being taken abroad

Roma children who were taken into care, which sparked unrest in Leeds on Thursday night, have been returned to their extended family.

The four children were removed from a house in Harehills on Thursday by police and social services, to prevent them being taken abroad in breach of a court order. The children, aged between eight and 14, had been living with family members since April when they were removed from their parents, the family court in Leeds heard.
