Roman Reigns’ Note Following Father Sika Anoa’i’ Passing

The professional wrestling community mourns the loss of legendary wrestler Sika Anoa’i, father of former WWE Champion Roman Reigns. Jahrus Anoa’i, Sika’s nephew, announced the sad news on his Instagram. He revealed that Sika Anoa’i of the Wild Samoans passed away peacefully on June 25th at the age of 79.

Professional wrestling fans know Sika Anoa’i as one-half of The Wild Samoans with his brother, Afa Anoa’i. The brothers made their wrestling debut in 1973. The duo wrestled for various promotions before their WWE debuts in January 1980. Sika went on to hold the WWF World Tag Team titles three times with his Brother.

After a successful career, Sika retired from wrestling in 1988. However, he stayed active in wrestling by training wrestlers at the Wild Samoan Training Center, a professional wrestling school run by his brother Afa in Minneola, Florida. In 2007, WWE inducted both brothers into the Hall of Fame.

Following the passing of Sika Anoa’i, his son, former WWE Champion Roman Reigns, has reacted to his father’s death. Reigns shared an emotional statement on Twitter, thanking fans for their support during this difficult time.

Fans might also remember back in 2020 when Roman Reigns faced Jey Uso in a Hell in a Cell match. After Reigns won the match, he was greeted by the Wild Samoans, Afa and Sika, his dad and uncle. They met him on the entrance ramp, placed Ula Fala around his neck, and embraced him as the head of the family.
