RÜFÜS DU SOL Announce Pop Up Show in Sydney

Grammy award-winning electronic music group RÜFÜS DU SOL are just on the cusp of releasing their fifth studio album Inhale / Exhale on October 11th. In celebration, they’re bringing it all back home for a one-of-a-kind live performance on Sydney Harbour.

RÜFÜS DU SOL will take to the Fleet Steps at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney at sunset on October 10th to treat their fans to an early snippet of their forthcoming project. Along with the new music, the group’s meticulous attention to revolutionising their live shows will create a spiritual journey through the blend of atmospheric, electronic soundscapes and live instrumentation, all to the backdrop of the gorgeous outdoors and Sydney Harbour at sunset.

With the announcement, the band have also launched an ominous, cryptic countdown on their website, which fans have suspected alludes to more live shows that could be right around the corner.

In a press release, this chapter of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s artistic journey reads as a “new creative groove” for the band.

“The trio’s next era is defined by enjoying the process and creating from the now while binding organic and electronic, with the album encompassing the themes that have endeared fans for over a decade – romance, heartbreak, euphoria, despair – through a medley of sprawling, mature soundscapes.”

It’s been three years since the trio released their last studio album Surrender, which has since won them a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Recording, and brought them home a fifth ARIA award. Taking Surrender to stages across North America, as well as running the second edition of their boutique festival Sundream Festival in San José del Cabo last year, it’s honourable that the group are now letting their Aussie fans in on the first taste of the new project as well as a unique hometown show.

Tickets for this special performance go live Friday, October 4th here. To get you in the spirit for SOL, you can listen to their latest single Pressure on all streaming platforms now.
