Sabrina Carpenter Brought the ‘Nonsense’ to Madison Square Garden: See the Exclusive Photos

RMAG news

Sabrina Carpenter left quite an impression — five feet to be exact — at her headlining Short n’ Sweet tour stop at New York City’s historic Madison Square Garden on Sunday night (Sept. 29).

Besides performing her setlist of hits, Carpenter took a moment to respond to the news that N.Y. Mayor Eric Adams had pleaded not guilty to five felony charges of conspiracy, wire fraud and bribery after officials accused him of taking more than $100,000 in illegal gifts in exchange for allegedly helping out the government of Turkey. “Damn, what now? Should we talk about how I got the mayor indicted?” she joked at one point, referring to reports that tied the filming of her 2023 “Feather” video to one of the Mayor’s friends.

Last week, the 25-year-old pop star’s sixth studio LP Short n’ Sweet was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. That means the 12-track project has moved more than 1 million units, becoming her first album to earn the certification, according to RIAA’s records.

The news comes about a month after Short n’ Sweet debuted atop the Billboard 200, where it reigned at No. 1 for three consecutive weeks. Featuring hits like “Please Please Please,” “Espresso” and “Taste,” the LP is the Girl Meets World alum’s first No. 1 album and sold 362,000 equivalent album units in its first week.

Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet tour will continue to travel across the U.S. and Canada through mid-November, with stops in Philadelphia, Montreal, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Dallas, Vancouver, Seattle, San Diego and Phoenix before winding down on Nov. 15 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
