Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office identifies skeletal remains found in June

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office has identified skeletal remains found last month. Deputies said the remains were found on the side of the road near Calle Chiripa and Ranch estates.


Shiprock man charged in July second-degree murder

The sheriff’s office confirmed the remains were identified as Santos Treto-Ortiz. He was reported missing by his family from the Santa Fe area in June 2022. The sheriff’s office has been investigating the remains as a suspicious death.
