Scottie Scheffler detained in handcuffs after traffic stop outside US PGA

World No 1 stopped by police attempting to drive into ValhallaPlay delayed after pedestrian killed by shuttle bus near course

Extraordinary footage has shown the world No 1, Scottie Scheffler, being placed in handcuffs and detained by police outside the gates of Valhalla before the second round of the US PGA Championship. Eye witnesses said police and Scheffler became involved in a misunderstanding with police over traffic flow and he was removed from his tournament vehicle.

Starting times for Friday at Valhalla had already been delayed by one hour and 20 minutes after an early morning accident close to the course had led to the death of a pedestrian.
