Second RO-Alert in 24 Hours Warns Tulcea Residents of Drone Debris

The Northern area of ​​Tulcea county was targeted on Thursday, for the second night in a row, by RO-Alert messages related to the possibility of some objects falling from the airspace, near the border with Ukraine. In recent months, fragments of a drone have arrived on the territory of Romania.

The Romanian authorities also issued, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, a RO-Alert message in the north of Tulcea County, after several drones were observed approaching the border.

“Last night, around 01:20, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations issued an RO-Alert message for the Northern area of ​​Tulcea County, informing the population about the possibility of some objects falling from the airspace, on the territory near the border with Ukraine. We mention once again that the role of the message is one of informing and preventing the population in the area where it is transmitted and must be treated as such!”, Tulcea Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) announced on Thursday morning.

ISU representatives ask citizens not to panic, to follow the indications and advice in the RO-Alert message, and if they do not feel safe or need help and support, to call the single emergency number 112 for help.

“We make it clear that no the territory of our country is targeted by the attacks of the Russian Federation, and these messages are sent to inform the population about the fact that there is a possibility that objects resulting from the destruction of unmanned aerial vehicles may fall on the territory of Romania”, states ISU Tulcea.

The head of the Ukrainian Air Force, General Mikola Oleschiuk, said on Thursday that three attack drones launched by Russia overnight against Ukraine crossed the Ukrainian border into Romania.

Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 25 Russian attack drones out of 38 launched overnight, the head of Ukraine’s air force said on Thursday.

The head of the Ukrainian air force said that three other drones “were lost after crossing the state border with Romania”, but did not give further details.
Romania’s territory is only a few hundred meters from the Ukrainian Danube port of Ismail, in the Odesa region, which was attacked by drones for the second night in a row.
Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper said two people were injured when drone debris hit a house in the Ismail district.
The authorities in the Ukrainian capital Kiev and in the Zhytomyr region announced that these areas were also targeted by the Russian attack during the night.
