In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the Shaun of the Dead 4K and Blu-ray release date of the remastered version of Edgar Wright‘s iconic zombie comedy starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
“There comes a day in every man’s life when he has to get off the couch…and kill some zombies,” reads the official synopsis. “When flesh-eating zombies are on the hunt for a bite to eat, it’s up to slacker Shaun (Pegg) and his best pal Ed (Frost) to save their friends and family from becoming the next entrée. Satisfy your bloodthirsty appetite with the movie that masters of horror and film critics alike are hailing as a screamingly hilarious zomedy that will have you dying with laughter.”
When is the Shaun of the Dead 4K release date?
The remastered version of Shaun of the Dead will be available to purchase on digital and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray with Dolby Vision and immersive Dolby Atmos sound, starting on December 3, 2024. In addition, this release will also include a limited edition SteelBook, while hours of existing bonus will also be made available for the first time on participating digital platforms, including Apple TV, Movies Anywhere, and Fandango at Home.
The 2004 movie was directed by Wright, who co-wrote the screenplay with Pegg. It serves as the first installment in Wright’s Cornetto trilogy, anthology action comedies led by Pegg and Frost. Shaun of the Dead was followed by 2007’s Hot Fuzz and 2013’s The World’s End. The cast also included Kate Ashfield, Lucy Davis, Dylan Moran, Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton, Jessica Stevenson, Peter Serafinowicz, and Rafe Spall.
