Sega unveiled the Sonic x Shadow Generations release date during Summer Game Fest in a brand new trailer for the remastered game.
When is the Sonic x Shadow Generations release date?
The latest trailer shows off more of the gameplay from the upcoming remaster before revealing that the Sonic x Shadow Generations release date is set for October 25, 2024. The game will launch on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
“Play as Shadow the Hedgehog in a brand-new story campaign featuring never-before-seen powers and abilities that prove why he’s known as the Ultimate Life Form,” reads the video’s description. “Sonic x Shadow Generations also includes a complete remaster of the classic hit Sonic Generations, featuring newly remastered versions of iconic 2D and 3D stages with upgraded visuals and new bonus content.”

The game is an enhanced remastered version of 2011’s Sonic Generations and features new collectibles, bonus content, and more, including upgraded visuals and cinematics. Sonic x Shadow Generations also includes a full remaster of the original Sonic Generations, which combined nostalgia from the iconic 2D era of Sonic with the blistering excitement of modern 3D Sonic gameplay. The story centers around Sonic and friends as their universe is thrown into chaos when a new threat appears, taking them on a journey through time and dimensions. Players can experience this adventure again with upgraded visuals, new challenges, and more bonus content.
