NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Wednesday marks the opening for three special military and veteran hunting applications in New Mexico. The New Mexico Game and Fish Department said injured service members can apply for one of ten special oryx hunting authorizations on White Sands Missile Range.
Resident Purple Heart recipients and active duty military stationed in the state can apply for authorizations for pronghorn hunting on Melrose Air Force Base. The application deadline for all three applications is July 17.
