The episode starts by revealing what happened to Martha during the war. Following her commander’s bold decision to force them to face the tanks, she is separated from the platoon. She manages to reach the forest but is attacked by two Westalis soldiers.
Despite managing to fend them off, she gets shot and falls off the cliff. Later, it is revealed that she is washed ashore on the Westalis riverbank. She wakes up to find herself being treated by an old Westalis woman, Anabel, who tells her where she is. Martha is shocked to see the woman care for her attentively despite her status as an Ostania citizen.
After nearly being discovered, Martha decides to leave the place to try to get back to Ostania. On her way, she finds out that Annabel has packed some food and given her a map home, which brings her to tears. The episode ends with Martha wishing to return home and tell Henry about Westalis.
