The Maddock Supernatural Universe is expanding with every new release. After beginning with Stree, the universe was extended with the 2021 film Roohi and the 2023 release Bhediya. The latest addition to the supernational universe was Aditya Sarpotdar’s directed Munjya. While the movie has confirmed that the horror comedies are interrelated, the teaser of Stree 2 also allegedly has a connection with the film’s theatrical run.
Stree, the 2018 horror comedy, is set against the backdrop of Chanderi. The film follows the story of Vicky, a local tailor, who becomes a messiah when a supernatural entity kidnaps the men of the town. It starred Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi in crucial roles. Moreover, it allegedly brought back the horror-comedy genre to Bollywood. While all eyes are on Stree 2, fans are waiting to catch its first look.
Stree 2 teaser trailer will be released with Munjya shows in theatres only
Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh recently revealed that director Dinesh Vijan has confirmed the release date of the teaser of Stree 2. However, there is a catch as it will not be uploaded directly on the internet. Instead, the teaser will premiere only in theaters during the screening of Munjya on June 21, 2024.
His tweet read, “‘STREE 2’ TEASER TO BE LAUNCHED THIS FRIDAY… ONLY IN *CINEMAS* SCREENING ‘MUNJYA’… *NOT* SOCIAL MEDIA OR OTHER PLATFORM/S… Producer #DineshVijan has hit upon a fantastic idea… The enterprising producer will launch #Stree2Teaser ONLY in *cinemas* screening #Munjya this Friday [21 June 2024].”
Stree 2 will see Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Abhishek Banerjee reprising their respective roles. Filming began in July 2023, and almost a year later, its teaser is ready. It is slated to hit the theaters in August 2024. More updates about the movie are awaited.
