Subsonic Music Festival Announces Full Lineup For 2024

The beloved NSW-held underground music and lifestyle festival Subsonic Music Festival has been teasing the program for its 15th anniversary since June of this year. Over a month out from festival weekend, the full program is finally here and it is nothing short of glorious.

Subsonic has hosted a renowned list of local and international acts over the years, coining itself as a “gathering place for open-minded and curious music enthusiasts” who are seeking an experience filled with discovery, connection, and free creative expression. Just last year, it housed acts like Barkaa, Crooked Colours, Cousin, Air Max 97’ and Jess B to name a few.

Music festivals in Australia have faced dire circumstances this year with consistent festival and artist cancellations, and the unpredictable future of our live music industry and entertainment scene looming over our heads.

Entering 15 years is an unworldly milestone given the nature of our industry, and Subsonic is one of a few festivals that continues to prosper on, guns blazing. As such, they’ve worked extra hard to pull together a hectic catalogue of music acts that’ll keep you dancing all three days.

“We’ve come a long way since our first festival, and it’s been incredible to see the community grow and evolve with us,” says Festival Director Scott Commens said in a press release.

“This year’s lineup is a reflection of our journey – a blend of the sounds that have defined us over the years and fresh, innovative artists who are shaping the future of music.”

Phase one of their music lineup unveiled a monstrous list of music acts who will be gracing Riverwood Downs including R&B superstar Becca Hatch, prolific selector and designer Soju Gang and a plethora of international names like Munich multidisciplinary artist Polygonia, and India-born, Australia-raised, Lisbon-based musician Jitwam.

Last month, the second phase of their lineup was revealed, which saw names like UK jungle producer and DJ Stretch, Sydney nightlife connoisseurs Club 77 DJs featuring Deepa, DJ PGZ and Barney in the Tunnel, Sydney-based Sunday institution SASH in collaboration with Dutch house muso Toman, South Asian R&B and hip hop act Vinny Lunar and Western Sydney rapper Yawdoesitall added to the event.

Subsonic has historically become the gift that keeps on giving, and the activities and workshops available for attendees on-site don’t fall short.

In their lifestyle area ‘The Village’, festival goers can bask in a shaded massage oasis, gawk at the captivating art installations on display, and scavenge through a line of elixir stalls and shops in between dancing. You can cool down amid the summer heat with an ice bath, or limber your body up for a day of frenzied movement through a morning yoga session before you head in the direction of trance music bellowing through the grounds.

The relationship between the festival and those that attend is reciprocal – where the loyal attendees of Subsonic give, Subsonic gives ten times more.

“Our community is what makes Subsonic special,” said Commens.

“Whether it’s through a shared love of music, art, or simply the joy of being together in such a beautiful setting, Subsonic is a place where everyone is welcome, and everyone is part of the experience.”

Subsonic Music Festival is happening from Friday November 29th to Sunday December 1st in Riverwood Downs, NSW in Worimi Country. View the full Subsonic Music Festival here and purchase your tickets here.
