‘SUN Bucks’ can help New Mexico families with groceries

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) announced the distribution of money meant to help keep kids fed during the summer.

The SUN Bucks EBT cards are issued to families to help pay for groceries in the summertime. The payments are $120 per child.

“Summer should be a time of joy and growth for our children, not a time of worry about where their next meal will come from,” said NM HCA Cabinet Secretary Kari Armijo. “SUN Bucks will help bridge the gap, ensuring families have the resources to keep their kids healthy and thriving.”

Some parents or guardians need to apply for SUN Bucks, but other families will automatically receive the help.
