ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico United goalkeeper Alex Tambakis is a savvy veteran in the USL. He has racked up nine seasons in the league and reached multiple accolades over the years. His next will be arguable his biggest, as he is one save away from the all-time record.

“I mean after the game I probably will reflect on it and it will be cool to see it happen,” said Tambakis. “For me, it’s all about the moment, the game and winning the game. I’m not really into the records but that is a cool record to have. But for me, the most important thing is the team.”
Tambakis is likely to reach the mark during United’s next match on Saturday. New Mexico will play San Antonio on the road at 7 p.m. MST.
