TAOS, N.M. (KRQE) – New flights are coming to the Taos Regional Airport. The town announced that an $8.2 million grant awarded by the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s Aviation Division, coupled with a previous allocation of $3.2 million received earlier this year, has allowed for new routes.

The planned slate for winter flights starting December 9, 2024, through March 31, 2025, will be:

Austin, Texas (EDC)

Dallas, Texas (DAL)

Los Angeles County/Burbank, California (BUR)

San Diego/Carlsbad, California (CLD)

Year-round flights continue to Denver, Colorado (BJC). Las Vegas flights will be available in October only.

Flights between Albuquerque, Angel Fire expected to take off before 2025

“Families like mine will be able to fly directly in and out of Taos, without the need for a long drive. Thanks to the new flights, I’m happy families will be able to see their loved ones more often,” said Airport Manager Colton Rapstine in a news release. “This is an exciting time for the Taos Regional Airport as we offer travelers new options to fly into our wonderful town and give locals more ways to visit their loved ones.”

Flights will be through air service partner JSX, according to the town. The total investment through the Rural Air Service Enhancement (RASE) program is $11.4 million. The RASE grant comprises 90% state funding with a 10% local match and is designed to support new routes as they become established, according to the town.
