TAROM buys two Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes
TAROM announces the signing of the leasing contract for the purchase of two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with CDB Aviation, the Irish subsidiary of CDB Financial Leasing Co., Ltd.
The two aircraft are part of the modernization process of the TAROM fleet and will be delivered between December 2025 and January 2026. The Boeing model was supposed to enter the company’s fleet sooner, already this year, but the company that was supposed to deliver the aircraft no longer had planes.
The new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft will have a capacity of 189 seats and will contribute to the standardization of the TAROM fleet. These aircraft come from CBD Aviation’s direct order book with Boeing.
“The collaboration with CDB Aviation supports our plans to modernize TAROM’s fleet, and the two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft will help us increase operational efficiency and provide our passengers with a superior flight experience,” says Costin Iordache, CEO of TAROM.
CDB Aviation is a wholly-owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (“CDB Leasing”), a Chinese leasing company that is principally supported by the China Development Bank.
