Terrapin Crossroads Presents Sunday Daydream: Full Details on Summer Festivals Featuring Diverse Phil Lesh & Friends Lineups

This summer, Terrapin Crossroads will present two opportunities to celebrate the enduring legacy of the Grateful Dead with the onset of Sunday Daydream Volumes 3 and 4 featuring Phil Lesh & Friends and more at Marin County shoreline at McNears Beach in San Rafael on Sunday, July 21 and August 18. The events represent a continuation of the Terrapin Crossroads’ venue tradition of putting on an all-day outdoor festival centered around music, community, and good times.

Sunday Daydream Vol. 3 will pick up on July 21 and features an all-star lineup paying homage to the 50th Anniversary of Grateful Dead’s performance at the Hollywood Bowl in 1974, a show that is considered an ideal representation of the mid-70s era setlist, with inclusions such as “Me and My Uncle,” “El Paso,” “It Must Have Been The Roses” and more. Performing as Phil Lesh & Friends for this edition of the event are Phil Lesh, Stanley Jordan, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Grahame Lesh, Mikaela Davis, John Molo, and Jason Crosby.

“With this festival series, we’re sharing the legacy of these wonderful musicians and tours and re-creating the community spirit of Terrapin Crossroads,” said Phil Lesh. “I love the opportunity to celebrate this music, bring it to new and diverse audiences, and keep the spirit alive.”

The fourth Sunday Daydream presentation arrives on August 18 and will include a headlining frame from Phil Lesh & Friends. Only this time, the lineup frays from the July event, with more talented artists supporting the Grateful Dead bassist, including Taylor Goldsmith, Stu Allen, Holly Bowling, Griffin Goldsmith, Natalie Cressman, and Grahame Lesh. The Sam Grisman Project will join the Vol. 4 lineup, paying tribute to the musical legacy of Jerry Garcia and David Grisman with their own frame of music.

In the press release,  Grisman shared a note about the intent behind his project format and an idea of what folks can expect. “The music that my father, David Grisman, and his close friend, Jerry Garcia, made in the early 90s (in the house that I grew up in) is not only some of the most timeless acoustic music ever recorded, it also triggers my oldest and fondest musical memories.”

Tickets for Sunday Daydream Vol. 3 and 4 are on sale now.
