The popular Thai BL drama My Stand-In released episode 7 on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 8 p.m. ICT on iQIYI. Starring Up Poompat Iam-samang as Ming and Poom Phuripan Sapsangsawat as Joe, My Stand-In revolves around the pair’s complex relationship. Joe finds himself caught up with Ming again after he comes back from the dead in the other Joe’s body. Here’s a look at My Stand-In episode 7 recap.
Episode 7 of My Stand-In begins with Joe showing his mom the new big house. The latter then asks where he got the money. Joe answers he borrowed it from a friend. When his mom asks if it’s Tharn from the model agency, Joe can’t remember him.
Meanwhile, Ming texts the latter, “tonight.” Before getting intimate, Joe apologizes to the other Joe as he’s in his body and says he’s doing so for their mom. However, Ming stops soon after he’s reminded of his time with the old Joe. Nonetheless, the former asks him to stay by his side. The next morning, Joe cooks breakfast for Ming and leaves for his music video shoot.
Furthermore, Joe finds out that Sol has given the main role of his boyfriend in the music video to him. During the shoot, Sol notices that Joe looks similar to the person who broke into Joe’s old house earlier. Their talk is interrupted when Ming calls Joe and asks him not to get involved with Sol yet again.
Later, Joe thinks that despite being a new life, everything is returning to how it was. Wut then joined the former for the meeting about the new project. The two then find out that the new film is the sequel to Tong’s first movie.
After the meeting, Tharn approaches Joe, who doesn’t recognize him. The latter shares he had an accident two years back and can’t remember the past. Tharn introduces himself as he’s joined the project as a supporting actor and says he and Joe were friends.
My Stand-In episode 7 recap: Poom Phuripan learns the truth about Joe’s accident
Joe’s mom says Tharn isn’t trustworthy and shares that the two were dating. As she didn’t approve of them, Joe jumped into the river after fighting with his mom two years ago.
When he was in a coma, Joe’s mom promised herself that she would not stop him from anything and accept him as he was. She only wanted her son to wake up. Joe’s mom apologizes and says he can date anyone, just not Tharn. The latter used Joe to get into the industry and then left him.
Furthermore, Ming probes Joe about his accident and asks what date it happened. However, the latter says he doesn’t remember anything. While packing for Ming, Joe discovers the former still has the watch the old Joe gifted him on Christmas.
Later, at the filming location, Tharn tries to get close to Joe. Tong then asks Tharn to remind Joe about their relationship as he doesn’t want the latter around Ming. Elsewhere, Ming asks Joe to spend the night with him, but the latter refuses and says he doesn’t want anyone to see them.
Later, Joe finds out that Tharn is his roommate. After asking about the former’s relationship with Ming, the latter forces himself on Joe. However, Ming breaks in and takes Joe away. The former is furious as he asks the latter not to forget “who he belongs to.” Joe retorts to Ming’s accusations and says Tharn was the one who tried to do something.
Furthermore, Joe says that Tong may have made Tharn act the way he did. However, Ming defends the latter and says he would not care about someone like him. Taken aback by Ming’s comment, Joe says, “You know each other more than you know me.”
Later, Tong sees Joe coming out of Ming’s room. Following the heated argument, Joe tells Tharn to get out of his room and breaks down. Meanwhile, Tong asks Ming to move on from the old Joe. The former says that he’s been dead for a long time and tells the latter not to find a replacement for him. Ming says it’s because of him and Tong that Joe has no future and has to run away. The former then asks the latter not to talk about Joe again.
Furthermore, Ming discovers that it wasn’t Tong who played the famous fencing scene in his first movie. The back scene made Ming fall for Tong for the first time. However, Ming learns that Tong’s full-time stand-in, the old Joe, played in that scene. Later, Ming breaks down in tears and hugs Joe from behind in the middle of the same fencing scene. He apologizes to the old Joe and begs him to return to him.
