In Episode 1 of The Boys Season 4, it’s revealed that Firecracker is making YouTube videos and spreading negativity about Starlight aka Annie. The reason for her anger towards Annie remains unknown until Episode 3. In this episode, Annie, determined to understand Firecracker’s motives, sneaks into Vought’s chamber inside Firecracker’s room to confront her.
During the confrontation, Firecracker (Valorie Curry) reveals that she knows Annie very well, which confuses Annie. Firecracker then reminds her of their time in high school when she was known as Sparkler. They had both competed in a singing competition and reached the finals. However, during the finals, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) used a dirty tactic against her.
Everyone laughed at Firecracker, and rumors spread that she had slept with the judges to reach the finals. This humiliating incident made Firecracker cry, and she revealed she was only 13 years old at the time. The trauma forced her to drop out of the finals and leave the competition.
Hearing this, Annie is moved to tears and feels remorseful for her past actions. She apologizes, but Firecracker is unwilling to accept her apology and tells her to leave. Despite this rejection, Starlight is left feeling guilty about the pain she caused.
After the confrontation between Starlight and Firecracker, it’s clear that Firecracker will not show mercy towards Starlight. Additionally, Firecracker might face off against Starlight again in the future and could potentially cause chaos among The Boys.
