Almost a decade after the last Creep movie was released, Mark Duplass has donned Peachfuzz once again for his return as the creepy serial killer in a new television series, The Creep Tapes, inspired by the two found footage horror features.

IndieWire reported that Duplass has already completed production on The Creep Tapes, an episodic series that is set to explore more of the serial killer’s victims. According to the outlet, the series is currently being shopped to buyers. It is co-created by Duplass and Patrick Brice. Brice, who directed the two Creep movies, also directed each episode of The Creep Tapes.

Nothing much has been revealed yet about The Creep Tapes, but viewers can expect the series to be akin to the movies it is based on, with a collection of found tapes revealing each of the nameless killer’s victims.

“The series is based on a collection of video tapes in the secret vault of the world’s deadliest and most socially uncomfortable serial killer, who hires his victims to film him for the day under false pretenses,” Duplass said in a statement (via IndieWire). “Each episode exposes a new victim from one of the fabled ‘Creep Tapes.’”

In addition to the announcement, Duplass also released a TikTok video, in which he’s clad in the character’s usual killing costume, teasing that the series is “coming soon.” Check it out below:

What is Creep about?

The first Creep movie, released in 2014, starred Duplass as a seemingly regular man who goes by the name Josef, alongside the film’s director as Aaron. Aaron was hired by the killer to document him for a day in order to make a movie for his unborn child. Aaron then realized that Josef may not be the man he claimed to be, as his requests became increasingly bizarre throughout the day. Creep 2, released in 2017, follows the same elements as the first one, following a video artist who seeks an extraordinary story.

No release date has been set yet for The Creep Tapes. The two Creep movies are available to stream on Netflix.
