Last night, Sept. 30, The Doobie Brothers touched down in Port Chester, N.Y. for the first of two nights at The Capitol Theatre. This appearance arrived as the final New York stop in the 2024 Tour, which has brought the legendary rock quartet around the world in a celebration of its towering legacy. Following the 50th Anniversary Tour that reunited Tom Johnson, Michael McDonald, Pat Simmons and John McFee on the road for the first time in over 25 years, the 2024 Tour has dazzled with such high-profile live collaborations as Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks in Jacksonville, Fla. and Steve Winwood at Madison Square Garden August.

For Monday’s show, the band issued lively treatments of such timeless classics as “Take Me In Your Arms (Rock Me a Little While),” “What a Fool Believes” and “Takin’ It to the Streets.” The badn will return to the Cap tonight, Oct. 1 for a follow-up, then truck to Holmdel, N.J.’s PNC Bank Arts Center on Oct. 2. After stops at Atlantic City, N.J.’s Borgata Event Center on Oct. 4 and Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. on Oct. 5, the ensemble will wrap its 2024 Tour with six-stop Canadian run, trekking from Ontario, to Quebec, to New Brunswick from Oct. 8-16.
