Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the The Wild Robot 4K, Blu-ray, and digital release dates for DreamWorks Animation’s latest sci-fi adventure movie. This comes after more than two weeks since the Lupita Nyong’o-led movie had made its theatrical debut.
“The film is an epic adventure following Roz, a robot that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must adapt to the harsh surroundings,” reads the synopsis. “Gradually Roz starts building relationships with the animals on the island, including a clever fox, and becomes the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling named Brightbill. THE WILD ROBOT is a powerful story about self-discovery, a thrilling examination of the bridge between technology and nature, and a moving exploration of what it means to be alive and connected to all living things.”
When is The Wild Robot 4K, Blu-ray, & digital release dates?
The Wild Robot will be available to rent or own on digital platforms starting on October 15. It will then be followed by its 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release on December 3, 2024. Since making its debut, the film has received overwhelming positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. It currently holds a near perfect Tomatometer score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The animated film was directed by acclaimed animated filmmaker Chris Sanders, who’s best known for his works on iconic movies such as Croods, How to Train Your Dragon, and Lilo & Stitch. It is produced by long-time Kung Fu Panda producer Jeff Hermann. The star-studded ensemble cast includes Nyong’o as Roz, Pedro Pascal as Fink, Catherine O’Hara as Pinktail, Bill Nighy as Longneck, Kit Connor as Brightbill, Stephanie Hsu as robot Vontra, Mark Hamill as Thorn, Matt Berry as Paddler, and Ving Rhames as Thunderbolt.
