AUSTIN (Nexstar) — As chairman of the powerful House Foreign Affairs Committee, Austin’s Michael McCaul has been one of the most outspoken voices encouraging US leaders to proactively counteract threats abroad.
The threat of another war, McCaul said, “keeps him up at night.” After spearheading a trio of foreign aid packages for Taiwan, Ukraine, and Israel, he ignored China’s warnings and visited Taiwan’s new president in a show of solidarity.
