Three arrested in Rio Arriba County warrant operation

RIO ARRIBA COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Three individuals who did not follow the terms of probation were arrested in the Espanola area on Tuesday.

The arrests were made as part of a warrant operation led by New Mexico State Police officers and the New Mexico Corrections Department.


Accused DWI drivers back on New Mexico roads after officer no-shows

Police arrested the following individuals:

Benito Chavez, 32, was arrested for a felony absconder warrant, with an original charge of battery on a household member.

Matthew Trujillo, 42, was arrested for a felony absconder warrant, with an original charge of trafficking.

Alfonso Quintana, 42, was arrested for a felony absconder warrant, with original charges of trafficking, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and felon in possession of a firearm.
