Tiana Khasi, Ella Haber, Mi-kaisha & More To Take Over Barangaroo This October

Spring has sprung and Sydney City is celebrating in a big way with the upcoming first edition of Barangaroo Spring in the Streets. In a bid to keep the live music sector of the city well nourished, revitalised and consistently fresh, the harbourside Barangaroo Avenue is transforming from a busy CBD precinct into a glorious, open-air music and food celebration over the next three Fridays in October.

Barangaroo is the newest harbour foreshore playground on the Western side of the CBD, and is home to various Aboriginal contemporary cultural tours, artworks and events as well as 90 world-class dining, retail and commercial spaces all accompanied by the view of the city’s surrounding waters. Barangaroo Spring in the Streets aims to infiltrate the area with the vibrant, eruptive sounds of Sydney’s contemporary music scene, bringing forward some of the city’s best in jazz, funk, R&B, soul and blues. The performances will be spread over three separate stages along the avenue, allowing attendees to get a taste of everything on offer.

The event kicks off its first night on Friday the 11th of October with jazz performances by DJ Deepa, GODTET, Ella Haber, Tiana Khasi, Jess Riess, Steph Grace Duo, and Junio. Friday the 18th of October will see the best of funk and R&B through DJ Diola, Jade Kenji, Manfredo Lament, Mi-kaisha, Rayn, Emily Hanks, and David Sharp. And finally, the event will come to a close on Friday the 25th of October with a soul and blues night, hosting artists DJ CMAN, Hot Potato Crew, ROSHANI, AfroMbollo, Cavan Te, Daniel March Duo, and Downtown Brass Band. Festivities will kick off from 4:30 PM each Friday, and wrap up at 8:30 PM.
