Trial begins against former Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputy accused of pulling gun on two people

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Jury selection has begun in the trial against former Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Borrecco. In January 2024, Borrecco is accused of being drunk and pulling a gun on two men at a Circle K on Osuna while off-duty.

Documents say the victims were waiting for a friend to get off work at the Circle K when Borrecco pointed a gun at them. Police alleged Borrecco had just bought vodka and had empty alcohol bottles in his vehicle. Borrecco is facing one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
