Alcachupas faces charges of first degree murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault, among others. Police say witnesses told investigators that Alcachupas attempted to rob employees shortly after the business was closed and got into a shootout with Zito.

Jury selection for the trial was expected to begin Wednesday, October 9. The court says the trial has been postponed until January 2025 while the judge rules on other motions.
