United draws at home against Birmingham

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – For the first time this season, New Mexico United did not win a league game at home. The black and yellow ended its winning streak with a 1-1 draw against Birmingham Legion FC on Saturday night.

After a scoreless first half, United went on to create some chances in the final 45. The only goal that came from it was in the 60th minute from Sergio Rivas.

After plenty of failed opportunities to put the game away, Birmingham was able to create something of its own. The team scored off a corner in the 81st minute.

With Saturday’s result, New Mexico now sits six points at the top of the western conference.

Up next for the club is a road game in El Paso next Saturday.
