United head coach Eric Quill agrees to contract extension

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico United’s lead man is sticking with the club through the 2026 USL season. The black and yellow announced a contract extension for head coach Eric Quill on Thursday.

Since his arrival in the middle of the 2023 season, Quill instantly made an impact. He guided the team to a playoff berth despite only having an 8% chance to do so, earned a 1.60 points per game margin in 52 matches and led the club its most wins in a season with two months still remaining.

“I feel truly blessed and grateful that this opportunity was given to me and I want to repay it in the best way possible and that’s our product on the field and hopefully we strive for hardware and we are successful doing so.”

“Eric has shown true leadership, desire, and New Mexican grit since his arrival in our state,” said United owner Peter Trevisani. “The way this team battles to the last whistle is a reflection of our ethos, his passion, and of the people of New Mexico. Coach Quill is one of our own, and we’re very excited that he has rededicated his time and effort to New Mexico United.”
