June 2024 will see the release of many anticipated C-dramas. From alluring costume dramas and tragic love stories to riveting family dramas and engaging thrillers, this month is sure to keep viewers occupied. The Tale of Rose, The Double, and Just In Time are some of the many C-dramas premiering in June.
Here’s a list of dramas that will release in June:
1. The Tale of Rose
The Tale of Rose, starring Liu Yifei, will premiere on June 6, 2024. The drama is an adaptation of Yi Shu’s famous novel “The Story of Rose.” It tells the complex and tragic story of a woman, Huang Yi Mei (Liu Yifei), who experiences several heartbreaks in her life. She falls in love with someone at her office, but the two end up parting ways. Later, Yi Mei goes back to college and falls in love with one of her classmates. Although, eventually, she finds her soulmate, he happens to be terminally ill. The Tale of Rose tells the circuitous journey Yi Mei takes to find her identity.
The drama will be available to stream on Tencent Video.
2. The Double
This historical romance C-drama premiered on June 2, 2024. An adaptation of Qian Shan Cha Ke’s “Marriage of the Di Daughter,” it features Wu Jinyan, Wang Xingyue, and Chen Xinhai in the lead roles. The drama tells the story of Xue Fang Fei (Wu Jinyan), the daughter of a wealthy merchant, who alters her identity and appearance to punish those who wronged her. After her family loses all wealth, Jiang Ruo Yao (Liu Xiening), the daughter of the Minister of Rites, becomes her benefactress. Xiao Heng (Wang Xingyue), the Duke of Suguo, also helps her overcome hardships. She returns with a new identity and dedicates her life to fighting injustice.
The Double will be available to stream throughout the week on Youku.
3. Just In Time
This C-drama is premiering on June 3, 2024. It is an adaptation of Jiang Li Zi’s novel “Lao Ma You Xi.” Xu Mengan (Qin Hailu) is left exhausted after a series of incidents turn her entire life upside down. Her husband loses his job, her daughter faces social stigma, and she unexpectedly gets pregnant for the second time. On the other hand, her close friends and sister also face problems of their own. They attempt to overcome the hurdles life has thrown at them together and also motivate and uplift each other.
4. Shuang Mian Fan Hua
This drama premiered on June 2, 2024. It tells the story of Mi You (Ding Ran), a timid and faint-hearted woman. Her husband is the son of an executive of a pharmaceutical company. After a car accident, her personality changes drastically, leading her to divorce her husband. Meanwhile, Mi You finds out that her accident was preplanned. She joins hands with Han Yi Cheng (Li Jiu Lin), the new CFO of the company, who is also investigating fraudulent and illegal activities conducted by the company, to search for the truth.
Shuang Mian Fan Hua will be available to stream on Tencent Video.
Other than these popular dramas, Chong Sheng Zhi Wo Zai AI Shi Jie Dang Te Gong and Take Me Home premiered on June 1 and June 2, 2024, respectively. Furthermore, Follow Your Heart, Lost in the Shadows, and The Elephant is Right Here, among others, are also scheduled to be released throughout June.
