The upcoming Chinese costume drama The Princess Royal has released a trailer ahead of its release. It features Zhang Linghe and Zhao Jinmai in the lead roles. It tells the story of Li Rong (Zhao Jinmai) and Pei Wen Xuan (Zhang Linghe), who marry at a young age for political reasons. She marries him for his family name, while Wen Xuan wants to establish his identity by marrying the princess.
The loveless marriage distances them. Li Rong starts to enjoy her own company, while Wen Xuan falls in love with someone else. In the end, they fall prey to conspiracies and turn against each other, which results in their eventual demise.
However, in a peculiar turn of events, they wake up in the same year they got married. Wen Xuan does not want to repeat the traumatic events once again and wishes to divorce Li Rong before it is too late.

The newly released trailer shows Li Rong regretting her decision to choose Wen Xuan. They constantly bicker and do not seem to stand each other. However, Wen Xuan also gets jealous when Li Rong gets close to Su Rongqing (Chen Heyi) and wishes to marry him. As they get married a second time, they continue to be carnal. Their physical attraction soon blossoms into something more.
When will Chinese Drama The Princess Royal be released?
The Princess Royal confirmed via official posters that it will premiere on June 26, 2024. In addition to the lead actors, the drama also features Liu Xuwei, Cheng Guo, He Qiu, Yu Jinwei, and others in pivotal roles. Go Yik Chun is the director of the drama. The anticipated Chinese drama is an adaptation of Mo Shu Bai’s web novel The Grand Princess.
All 40 episodes of The Princess Royal will be available to stream on Youku.
