Warrington thrash Wigan to take their place at top of Super League table

Super League is set for its most compelling finish in years after Warrington ended Wigan’s 17-game winning run at home to overthrow the reigning champions at the top of the table.

The Warriors knew victory here would not only strengthen their position at the summit, but set up a club record for most successive wins at home. Sam Burgess’s Wolves, however, made a mockery of that ever being a prospect with a performance that underlined how far they have come since he took charge.
