After teasing something was in the works with Carpenter yesterday (September 23), Aguilera has now revealed an event celebrating 25 years of ‘Christina Aguilera’.

Now, in an anniversary event for Spotify, Aguilera has teamed up with Carpenter to sing her hit ‘What A Girl Wants’. The performance starts at around 19 minutes and 27 seconds.

Before the duet, Carpenter admitted she was “freaking out”, going on to tell Aguilera: “I think the first time I ever heard your voice was [when] my mom played me a video of you singing at eight years old, ‘A Sunday Kind of Love’. That was the most inspiring thing for me ever to see as a young girl that wanted to sing, but just didn’t think I could do it at that age.”

Machine Gun Kelly can also be spotted playing guitar for ‘Genie In A Bottle’, whose cameo starts around 4 minutes and 38 seconds. Watch the full event below:

Aguilera kicked her Las Vegas residency in December last year, where she played a career-spanning set with some elaborate production. Entitled ‘A Truly Modern Twist’, Aguilera’s residency took place at Volatire at The Venetian. Take a look at the footage and setlist here.

However, the singer was forced to abruptly postpone her remaining residency shows after coming down with the flu.

“After welcoming all of your to the new year from the stage in Las Vegas, I’ve been welcomed with a new year flu,” she joked.

“I am sorry to share that my two shows this weekend will be rescheduled while I rest – and I cannot wait to be back on that stage in a few weeks,” she added. “I’m incredibly proud of this show and grateful for all of the support and love after opening weekend! See you soon.”
