On Saturday, Aug. 17, Margo Price joined Tedeschi Trucks Band onstage for a rendition of “Let’s Go Get Stoned” at Burgettstown, Pa.’s The Pavilion at Star Lake. Alongside Price and members of her ensemble The Pricetags, Tedeschi Trucks Band opted for the Joe Cocker arrangement of the 1965 track, written by The Coasters and made famous by Ray Charles the following year. This onstage collaboration follows a number of previous cover offerings in the encore slot of the Deuces Wild Tour, including Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright,” Leon Russell’s “Stranger In A Strange Land” and George Jones’ “Color Of The Blues.”

After Price kicked off the Steel City affair with an opening set, Tedeschi Trucks Band began its two-hour staging with 2016’s  “Laugh About It,” continuing on to “Hear My Dear” and “Fall In” before weaving in a cover of Delaney & Bonnie’s “Comin’ Home.” The next cover of the evening arrived shortly after as the band poured heart and soul into Willie Nelson’s “Somebody Pick Up My Pieces,” then burned through original tracks ”Idle Wind” and “Part of Me” before back-to-back homages of Aretha Franklin’s “It Ain’t Fair” and “Dreams” by The Allman Brothers Band. The final selections of the night were “Chevrolet,” “Midnight In Harlem” and “Made Up Mind.” For the encore of “Let’s Go Get Stoned,” the band welcomed Price, Jeremy Ivey and Alec Newnaam.

The Deuces Wild Tour resumes today, Aug. 20, in Lewiston, N.Y., and continues across the Northeast through the end of the month with stops in Maryland, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire. Price will join the group on the next four dates. In September, the 12-piece ensemble is set for four nights in New York, with pairs plotted at the Beacon Theatre and the Kings Theatre. After heading towards the coast for a number of shows, one alongside Duane Betts in Providence on Oct. 3, TTB will perform at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y. on Oct. 8 and 9 before heading south again to close out the Deuces Wild Tour in November.
